How We Work
Initial Survey & Assessment
A qualified surveyor conducts a full asbestos survey of the property, identifying all ACMs, assessing their condition, and producing a detailed written report and register.
Abatement Plan
We produce a comprehensive abatement plan specifying the removal method, sequencing, control measures, and programme for each ACM. This is agreed with the client before works commence.
Controlled Removal
Licensed and non-licensed operatives remove all ACMs in the agreed sequence, using full enclosures, negative pressure units, and wet methods to minimise fibre release throughout.
Clearance & Certification
On completion of each phase, independent air testing is conducted and a clearance certificate is issued. The property is confirmed safe for re-occupation or for subsequent trades to proceed.
Final Documentation
A complete abatement file is provided on completion, including the survey report, abatement plan, waste transfer notes, air test results, and clearance certificates for all areas.
Common Questions
What is the difference between asbestos removal and abatement?
Asbestos removal refers to the physical act of removing an ACM. Asbestos abatement is the broader process of managing all asbestos risks in a property — including surveying, planning, removal, air testing, and documentation. Abatement is typically used for larger or more complex projects involving multiple ACM types.
Do I need a full abatement programme?
A full abatement programme is typically required before major refurbishment or demolition works, when multiple ACMs are present in poor condition, or when a property is being prepared for sale or change of use. We can advise on the appropriate scope of works following an initial survey.
How long does a full asbestos abatement programme take?
This depends on the number and type of ACMs present, the size of the property, and the programme of works. A domestic property abatement may take 3–5 days. A large commercial abatement programme may take several weeks. We will provide a detailed programme with your quotation.
What documentation will I receive after abatement?
You will receive a complete abatement file including the survey report, ACM register, abatement plan, waste transfer notes, air test results, and clearance certificates for all areas. This documentation is essential for property sales, insurance, and compliance purposes.
Do you provide asbestos abatement for commercial properties?
Yes. We regularly carry out full abatement programmes for commercial properties including offices, schools, hospitals, industrial buildings, and public sector premises across Surrey, London, and the South East.
